FOLIO: Modern Baroque
A documentation of an impermanent installation. “In a space for things,” house drawings of motifs on vellum, impermanently placed in an entryway of patterned glass.
Thoughts, drawn in the former Hudson home of triple-crowned poet and art critic John Ashbery. Created after onsite study of Baroque ornamentation that began at the American Academy in Rome. This work explores the intersection of historic ornamentation with light entering an interior space…rooms of mid-century furnishings, surrounded by William Morris, Arts & Crafts wallpaper, vintage things and books.
Compositions of translucent light-diffusions serve as foundational studies for modern Baroque motifs to become handprinted Rome Editions and OrangeHOWELL Textiles.
